The control box next to the speaker. Must be at the bottom of the air in a separate bag. It is located near the base.
I am looking for the same answer. I bought from The Home Depot (http://www.gemmy.com/product.cfm?productId=18828) and the control unit does not comply with the instructions. I have to synchronize a volume control and nothing to lights to music.
