How long does pancreatitis last for dogs? - pancreatitis

My dog is a Pomeranian and pancreatitis during 3 weeks, the vet suggested break. Must continue to try, or had been sick for a long time and this is just for sleeping?

What are the treatment options it? They tend to have infusions to the vets. Sometimes this can be done in a day, sometimes it takes 2-3 days of continuous treatment. You pick up a little more time in the hospital, but should not 3 weeks. If you are, perhaps, the liquid treatment he needs another session with liquids. If you no longer need. The dog is very ill.

If your dog is very old, with the right treatment, there is no reason not to be surpassed. I had a cat for 20 years with the same 2 years. In the treatment that was fine and still with us.

My pom had pancreatitis, but only in the hospital for one or two days. It took some time to get better, but recovered.

I have the opinion of another vet. Sun had received all information and tests for your dog and see what people say.

I hope you feel better soon.

I would definitely recommend to get a second opinion. If you followed the soft-diet (very important), there is no reason that the POM is not much better. My toy fox terrier, and he was sick for 5 days, but was on the light food for 2 weeks. In addition, permanent damage to his pancreas and diabetes is now for the rest of his life. Elso Could something happens that is secondary to this condition. Is your older dog? Older dogs have more time to recover himself. As the dog? Is it worse? Use dragged into consideration, but more importantly, give him time. I think the dogs, please let us know if you are willing to let your veterinarian to speed up their decision.

My little poodle for many years. After an initial treatment at the vet, infusions, etc., which are placed on a diet and lived for many years. I had to "cook" for them. the vet gave me a house dog food recipe. It was rice, turkey and vegetables. But, especially rice. I would be a big pot and freeze in small amounts to cook, thaw and use as needed. I think the recipe called for a little bone meal.

She loved Bologna and had to abandon these and other fats ...... Another reason is that the rice mix.

Good luck and I hope your puppy gets better. It is so hard to see, our little furbabies feel bad!

Pancreatitis is a disease that is kept with their whole lives to their pet. Lights up when eating certain foods. Currently, a scheme cooked white rice, baby food, Turkey (no preservatives and no extras) and yogurt will (if you can tolerate) After he may be able to feed your vet should be able to recommend a very soft food without corn. Lamb & Rice is a fine thing. Do not feed like any kind, if you are sure they are very sweet and made for dogs with sensitive stomachs. No food ever!
Good luck and hope your dog is better.I task will be to say a prayer for him or her.

It takes several weeks and is very painful. And it is again.
Decide how you suffer your dog.
